KSH: increased passenger traffic and decreased freight in the first quarter
Compared to the low base of the previous year, the performance of intercity passenger transport increased sharply in the first quarter of this year, while the performance of freight transport decreased, but both fell short of pre-pandemic levels, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) assessed transport performance.
The performance of intercity passenger transport in the first quarter was 4.9 billion passenger-kilometers, 68.9 percent more than a year earlier, when traffic was low due to border closures. However, it fell 27 percent from the first quarter of 2019, primarily due to the continued significant decline in air and bus passenger transportation. (MTI)
