KSH: about 234 thousand farms are operating in Hungary
Nationwide, about 234,000 farms participated in the Central Agricultural Office’s full in the the 2020 Agricultural Census – Patay Ágnes, project manager of the Agricultural Census said at an online press conference on Thursday.
Since the last census in 2010, the number of farms has fallen to two-thirds.
She added that the structure of farms has also changed over the past 10 years: the proportion of those that are mainly engaged in animal husbandry has fallen from 46 percent to 25 percent, while that of more crop-producing farms has increased from 41 percent to 67 percent. (MTI)
