Prices increased by 5.1 percent In May, compared to the same month of the previous year
In May, consumer prices were on average 5.1 percent higher than a year before, and the prices of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and fuels have risen significantly in the past year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
Food prices increased by 2.6 percent compared to May 2020, including cooking oil with 24.6, eggs with 8.7, margarine and dry pasta with 7.0, for work meals with 6.6, flour with 6.3 and fruit and vegetable juices grew with 6.2 percent and rice by 6.1 percent. (MTI)
