KSH: Hungary's growth of export slowed down in July
According to freshly published data by Central Statistics Officer(KSH), hungary had a €241 million trade surplus in July 2010, well down from a €564 million surplus in June and a €328 million surplus a year earlier.
Export growth slowed after some growth in June, and import saw a mere 0.1 percent growth both in euro terms and in volume. Imports rose faster than exports did as opposed to June but similar to April and May. Hungary posted a €3.101 billion trade surplus in the first seven months of 2010, well up from a €1.919 billion surplus recorded a year earlier, unchanged from the preliminary figures. July exports were up 17.7% in twelve months in euro terms and rose 12.7% in volume terms. Imports rose 20.8% yr/yr in euro terms and rose 14.5% in volume terms in the period.
January-July exports rose 20.5% in euro terms and import volume was up 17.4% from a year earlier. Seven-month imports rose 18.0% yr/yr in euro terms and rose 15.0% in volume. In 2009, Hungary's exports dropped 19.4% and its imports dropped 24.8% from 2008 – reports hvg.hu
