KSH: a slowdown in the rise of agricultural prices
The producer price of agricultural products was 9.2 percent higher in May, compared to a year earlier, after the 11.5 percent increase of April – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
The increase in crop prices fell to 12.4 percent from the 15.9 percent of April – thus slowing the agricultural inflation, as the price of slaughter animals and animal products increased by the same extent by 3.2 percent as in the previous month, compared to a year earlier.
In May, the price of cereals was 14.8 percent higher than a year earlier. The price of wheat has remained virtually unchanged since January, while the price of corn decreases since March. (MTI)
