KSH: nearly 5 percent exports increase in euros
Exports increased in euros by 4.6 percent, imports rose by 4.0 percent in July compared to a year earlier – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday. Due to the exchange rates, growth in forint was 11.3 and 10.8 percent.
The euro and the USD in forints were stronger than a year ago all through the first seven months, while in July, the euro was 7.0 percent the USD was 24.3 percent more expensive than in July 2011.
In the January-July period, export was higher by 1.0 percent and import was 1.5 percent higher in euros than in the same period of the last year. The export surplus was 4.119 billion euros, 166 million less than last year, although the July surplus of 458 million euros is 54 million more than in last July. (MTI)
