KSH: trade surplus was almost 10 billion euros in 2016
The foreign trade turnover surplus was 9.978 billion euros (3107 billion HUF) last year after the 8.595 billion euros of 2015 – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced its first estimates on Thursday.
Exports increased by 3.1 percent in euros, while imports increased by 1.7 percent and amounted to 93.274 billion and 83.295 billion euros.
The annual export surplus would have exceeded the 10 billion euros as well, but the surplus in December of 556 million euros was 82 million euros lower than a year before, because the 9.9 percent growth of import was higher than the 7.7 percent pace of exports. (MTI)
