KSH: inflation in June was 1.9 percent
The annual consumer price inflation rate, accelerated to 1.9 percent in June, from the 1.8 percent of May. Compared to May, consumer prices rose by 0.2 percent – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Thursday.
The annual rate of price change meets the analysts' expectations. The Central Statistics Office (KSH) in its communication stressed that the annual rate of inflation is low, due to the significant reduction of household energy prices. The price of consumer durables also fall, while the price of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, food products and services became more expensive over a year. (MTI)
