KSH: volume of retail sales declined by 2.6 percent in July
In July, the volume of retail sales declined by 2.6 percent, while in the first seven months of the year declined by 1.3 percent compared to the same period of last year – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Monday.
After the stagnation of June, July sales were even 0.4 percent below the sales of the previous month. In the national retail network as well as in mail order and Internet retail in July 731 billion HUF and in the first seven months 4524 billion HUF worth of sales were realized.
In the decrease of volume, the sales decline of food stores (2.4 percent), gas stations (2.0), furniture and electrical goods stores, (8.1) played a crucial role. However, the mail-order and Internet retail sales are increasing dynamically (27.1 percent). (MTI)
