KSH: inflation was 1.8 percent in July
Inflation has declined. After the 1.9 percent annual price growth of June, consumer prices were 1.8 percent higher in July, compared to a year earlier. Consumer prices have declined by an average 3 percent, compared to June – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) published on Tuesday.
In May annual inflation rate was also a 1.8 percent and in April inflation reached a four-decade low point with 1.7 percent.
The report of the Central Statistics Office (KSH) emphasized that the annual rate of inflation remains low, due to the substantial reduction of domestic energy prices. Among consumer durables a fall in prices occurred also, while alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, food products and services became more expensive than the average over the year. (MTI)
