KSH: in July, the product foreign trade surplus was 167 million euros
In July, the volume of exports increased by 4.9 percent and that of imports by 7.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The asset amounted to 167 million euros, the balance deteriorated by 398 million euros compared to a year earlier.
Compared to June, the adjusted volume of exports decreased by 1.0 percent and that of imports by 0.9 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday based on its second estimate.
In July, the value of exports was 11.8 billion euros (4,641 billion forints), and that of imports was 11.6 billion euros (4,575 billion forints).
Expressed in euros, the value of exports increased by 4.8 percent and that of imports by 8.8 percent compared to the previous year.
Adjusted for the calendar effect, the export volume decreased by 1.8 percent, while the import volume increased by 0.2 percent.
The KSH explained that the price level of foreign trade product turnover measured in forints increased by 3.5 percent in exports and 5.3 percent in imports compared to the same month of the previous year. The exchange ratio deteriorated by 1.7 percent. The forint exchange rate weakened by 3.6 percent against the euro and 5.6 percent against the dollar.
The export volume of machinery and transport equipment decreased by 0.7 percent, while its import volume increased by 4.4 percent. The volume of the electrical machine, device and instrument product group decreased by a tenth in exports, and slightly increased in imports. The export and import volume of the road vehicle product group decreased at almost the same rate compared to the base period.
