KSH: January retail sales rose by 3.9 percent
The calendar-adjusted volume of retail sales increased by 3.9 percent in January 2014, compared to the same period of the last year – the first flash estimate of the Central Statistics Office (KSH) shows. According to the unadjusted datas, the increase was 3.9 percent in January.
The voulme of sales increased by 3.7 percent in food retail and by 4.3 percent in non-food retailing, while fuel retail sales volumes rose by 4.1 percent.
Retail sales continue to increase since July 2013. In December 2013, growth was 1.8 percent, according to the calendar adjusted datas, while the raw data showed a 2.3 percent increase. (MTI)
