KSH: the turnover of hotels increased by 6.5 percent in February
In February, the number of nights spent by foreign tourists increased by 7.8 percent, while the number of domestic guest nights increased by 5.2 percent, compared to the previous year. The turnover in commercial accommodations thereby exceeded last year’s February data by 6.5 percent – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Monday.
In February, 7.4 percent more foreign visitors spent 294 thousand guest nights, while the number of domestic tourists increased by 2.9 percent to 331 thousand. Foreigners spent 723 thousand guest nights, while domestic guests spent 709 thousand nights at commercial accommodation establishments.
Two third of the overnight stays concentrated almost to Budapest, where a 12 percent growth was experienced – KSH added. (MTI)
