KSH: retail sales fell by 2.3 percent in February
The volume of retail sales decreased by 2.3 percent in February 2013, compared to the same period of the previous year. The working day adjusted volume index indicates a 1.1 percent drop in turnover – shows the data published on the website of the Central Statistics Office (KSH).
The calendar-adjusted data indicate a slowdown in retail sales decline after the 2.6 percent decline of January.
Compared to January, the volume of retail sales rose by 0.2 percent, mainly due to the 6.1 percent monthly volume growth of daily consumer goods and the about 5.0 percent monthly volume growth of mail-order services, including web services. Food consumtion decreased by 0.2 percent. (MTI)
