KSH: declining domestic freight, stagnant passenger traffic
The volume of domestic freight, decreased by 11 percent its performance by 6 percent last year, which was offset by the 5 percent growth of international freight and its 3 percent increase in ton per kilometers performance, the long distance passenger transport traffic stagnated, the passenger-kilometers thanks to the passenger air transport increased by 3 percent – reports the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Monday.
According to the figures of the Central Statistical Office (KSH); the weight of transported goods in 2011 was 263 million tonnes 6 percent, compared to the datas of the previous year, rail transportation increased by 2, pipeline transport 7 percent, while road freight decreased by 8, inland waterway transport by 28 percent – reports MTI.
