KSH: industrial producer prices decreased by 3.0 percent in March 2024 compared to a year earlier
In March 2024, industrial producer prices decreased by 3.0 percent compared to a year earlier, and were essentially unchanged (+0.1 percent) compared to the previous month, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.
According to the KSH, in March 2024, industrial producer prices were on average 3.0 percent lower compared to a year earlier. Domestic sales prices fell by 5.2 percent, export sales by 1.9 percent.
Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices decreased by 0.3 percent, export sales prices increased by 0.3 percent, so industrial producer prices remained almost unchanged overall (+0.1 percent).
In March, domestic sales prices were on average 5.2 percent lower than in March 2023, including 1.3 in the processing industry, which represented 60.0 percent, and 1.3 in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam supply, air conditioning) 13 decreased by 3 percent. The sales prices of the food industry decreased by 6.6 percent.
