KSH: industrial production decreased by 5.3 percent in December 2024
The volume of industrial production in December 2024 was 5.3 percent lower than a year earlier, or 6.4 percent lower than a year earlier, adjusted for working days. Based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, industrial output was 1.8 percent lower than in November 2024. The volume of industrial production in 2024 was 4.0 percent lower than in 2023, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday, based on its first estimate.
According to the statement, the volume of production in the largest manufacturing sub-sectors, vehicle manufacturing and electrical equipment, decreased, while the production of computers, electronics, optical products, and food, beverages and tobacco products increased.
Seasonally and working day adjusted industrial output decreased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month.
