KSH: exports grew and imports declined in May
The euro-denominated value of exports increased by 2.5 percent in May, while imports were 0.7 percent lower than in May 2014 – the first estimate of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) revealed on Thursday.
In addition to the decline in import growth, the growth of exports slowed significantly after the 8.8 percent growth of April and the 12.9 percent increase of March.
The May export surplus of 505 million euros (155 billion HUF) is 224 million euros higher than the data of last May.
Hungary carried out 79 percent of the exports, and 76 percent of the imports with the Member States of the European Union. (MTI)
