KSH: industrial production in January fell by 2.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, and increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous month
In January 2026, the volume of industrial production decreased by 2.5 percent, while adjusted for working day effects, it increased by 0.3 percent compared to a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday, based on its first estimate.
According to seasonally and working day adjusted data, industrial output was 1.5 percent higher than in December 2025.
The KSH noted that the volume of production in the vast majority of manufacturing sub-sectors decreased compared to the same month of the previous year. Among the most important sub-sectors, the production of computers, electronics, optical products, and electrical equipment expanded, while there was a decline in vehicle production and the production of food, beverages, and tobacco products.
The KSH will publish detailed data on industrial production for January in a week on March 13, based on its second estimate.
