KSH: Sales prices in the food industry rose by 4.8 percent compared to a year earlier
In September of this year, industrial producer prices were on average 2.5 percent lower compared to a year earlier. Domestic sales prices increased by 7.8 percent, export sales decreased by 7.5 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
The big difference was primarily caused by the fact that domestic sales prices in the energy industry, which mainly produces for the domestic market and represents a large part of it, exceeded the level of a year earlier, while export sales prices were significantly lower than that, the report explained.
The increase in the price of raw materials and the increase in production costs, as well as the strengthening of the forint against the euro over the course of a year, also played a role in the development of industrial producer prices, noted the KSH.
Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices increased by 1.7 percent, export sales prices by 1.6 percent, so industrial producer prices rose by 1.7 percent overall.
Within the average annual increase of domestic sales prices of 7.8 percent, in the manufacturing industry, which accounts for 65 percent, 2.3 percent, in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam supply, air conditioning), which accounts for 30 percent – partly as a result of changes in official price regulation – 15, The price increase was 4 percent compared to last September.
Sales prices in the food industry rose by 4.8 percent compared to a year earlier.
Among the intended groups of sectors, domestically, prices rose by 7.3 percent in energy and further consumption sectors, 4.8 percent in capital goods producers, and 8.0 percent in consumer goods producers.
