KSH: food exports were 0.5 percent lower than a year earlier
In October, the volume of industrial production was 5.9 percent higher than a year earlier, adjusted for the working day effect, production increased by 5.1 percent. Compared to the previous month, seasonally and working day-adjusted industrial output decreased by 3.5 percent – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) confirmed in its second estimate on Wednesday.

The volume of food exports also decreased
The production of food, beverages and tobacco products decreased for the first time since last February as a result of the decrease in both domestic and foreign market sales, falling by 1.1 percent from last October. The production of electrical equipment increased the most among the subsectors, by 57.0 percent. Among the two most important sub-sectors, the production of batteries and dry cells increased by 128 percent, and the production of electric motors, power generators, distribution devices, and control devices by 60 percent. Growth continued in the production of lighter weight pharmaceuticals, the volume of production was 12.5 percent higher than last October.
