KSH: The volume of exports of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 6.2 percent
In November 2023, the volume of exports decreased by 3.6 percent and that of imports by 16 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The assets were 1.6 billion euros, the balance improved by 3.0 billion euros compared to a year earlier, but it was 138 million euros less than the first estimate, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday based on its second estimate.
Compared to October, the seasonally and working day-adjusted volume of exports decreased by 2.8 percent, and that of imports by 6.1 percent.
In November 2023, the value of exports was 13.0 billion euros (4,921 billion forints), and that of imports was 11.4 billion euros (4,322 billion forints).
Expressed in euros, the value of exports in November decreased by 3.1% and that of imports by 23% compared to a year earlier. Adjusted for the calendar effect, the export volume was 3.5 percent smaller, while the import volume was 16 percent smaller.
The price level of foreign trade product turnover measured in forints decreased by 6.7 percent in exports and 15 percent in imports compared to the same month of the previous year. The exchange ratio improved by 9.8 percent. The exchange rate of the forint increased by 6.9 percent against the euro and by 12 percent against the dollar.
