KSH: The volume of exports of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 0.2 percent, while the volume of imports decreased by 12 percent
In August, the product foreign trade surplus was 665 million euros, compared to July, the adjusted volume of exports decreased by 0.6 percent and that of imports by 1.6 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced its second estimate on Thursday.
In August, the export volume increased by 0.5 percent, while the import volume decreased by 7.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The assets were 665 million euros, the balance improved by 2.3 billion euros compared to a year earlier.
Compared to July, the seasonally and working day-adjusted volume of exports decreased by 0.6 percent, and that of imports by 1.6 percent.
The value of exports in August was 11.3 billion euros (4,354 billion forints), and that of imports was 10.6 billion euros (4,098 billion forints), the KSH announced.
Compared to a year earlier, in August, the value of exports, expressed in euros, decreased by 1.7 percent, and that of imports by 19 percent. Adjusted for the calendar effect, the export volume decreased by 0.8 percent, while the import volume decreased by 7.6 percent. The product foreign trade balance improved by 2.3 billion euros. The balance is EUR 44 million less than the first estimate.
