KSH: the volume of construction production in November decreased by 1.7 percent compared to a year earlier and by 2.0 percent compared to the previous month
In November 2024, the volume of construction production fell by 1.7 percent compared to a year earlier, according to raw data. Among the main construction groups, the production of buildings was 9.0 percent lower, while that of other construction was 8.2 percent higher, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday.
Based on seasonally and working day-adjusted indices, construction production fell by 2.0 percent compared to October.
In November 2024, the production of the two main construction groups developed in opposite directions: that of buildings was 9.0 percent lower, and that of other construction was 8.2 percent higher than a year earlier.
Among the construction sectors, the volume of production decreased by 22.4 percent in the construction of buildings, and by 3.7 percent in the construction of other construction. The production of the most important sector, special construction, expanded by 12.2 percent.
According to the KSH report, the volume of new contracts concluded decreased by 51.1 percent, including 34.9 percent for the construction of buildings and 57.0 percent for the construction of other structures compared to the same period of the previous year.
The volume of contracts of construction companies at the end of November exceeded the volume of a year earlier by 14.4 percent, including 2.1 percent less for contracts for the construction of buildings and 26.7 percent more for contracts for other structures than in November 2023.
