KSH: industrial producer prices in October exceeded those a year earlier by 2.6 percent and the previous month by 1.0 percent
In October, industrial producer prices were 2.6 percent higher on average than a year earlier. Domestic sales prices decreased by 0.5 percent, while export sales prices were 4.1 percent higher than in October 2023, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Friday.

Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices decreased by 0.5 percent, export sales prices increased by 1.8 percent, so industrial producer prices were 1.0 percent higher overall than a year earlier.
In October 2024, compared to October 2023, domestic sales prices increased by 1.2 percent in the manufacturing industry, which accounts for 60.0 percent, and decreased by 4.0 percent in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam, air conditioning) which accounts for 38.6 percent. Sales prices in the food industry were 2.5 percent higher.
Among the groups of sectors by purpose, domestically, the energy and secondary consumption sectors decreased by 2.5 percent, while producer prices increased by 6.8 percent in the manufacturers of capital goods and by 2.8 percent in the manufacturers of consumer goods.
Within the 4.1 percent increase in industrial export sales prices, prices increased by 4.0 percent in the manufacturing industry, which accounts for 82.9 percent, and by 1.4 percent in the energy industry, which accounts for 16.7 percent.
In the first ten months of the year, domestic sales prices decreased by 2.6 percent, while export sales prices increased by 0.6 percent, so industrial producer prices were 0.5 percent lower overall than in January-October 2023, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced.
