KSH: in August, gross average earnings were HUF 628,800, 13.1 percent higher than a year earlier
In August 2024, the gross average salary of those employed full-time was HUF 628,800, and the net average salary calculated with allowances in mind was HUF 433,100. The gross average wage increased by 13.1 percent, the net average wage by 12.9 percent, and the real wage by 9.4 percent compared to a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.
The median value of the gross earnings reached HUF 520,000 and the median value of the net earnings reached HUF 360,100, exceeding the same period of the previous year by 15.6 and 15.3 percent, respectively.
In August, the regular gross average earnings (without premiums, bonuses, one-month special benefits) can be estimated at HUF 601,300, which is 13.8 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. The regular gross average earnings in enterprises amounted to HUF 600,800, in the budget sector to HUF 596,800, and in the non-profit sector to HUF 619,700, rising by 13.1, 15.2, and 16.6 percent, respectively, in one year.
The average net salary calculated without discounts was HUF 418,100, 13.1 percent higher than in August 2023.
Real earnings increased by 9.4 percent in August, in addition to the 3.4 percent increase in consumer prices compared to the same period of the previous year.
