KSH: the number of guest nights spent in accommodation rose by 5.3 percent in August
The 6.0 percent growth rate of domestic overnight stays exceeded the guest nights of foreigners (4.5 percent increase) for the first time this year in August – shows the datas of the Central Statistical Office (KSH). In August, 4.8 percent more guests spent 5.3 percent more guest nights in commercial accommodations, compared to a year earlier.
In the first eight months of the year, the number of foreign visitors and the number of guest nights were both 7.3 percent higher, than in the same period of last year. The number of domestic guests from January to August, was 1.3 percent lower, the number of guest nights was 0.3 percent lower than in last year.
Domestic guests spent 1875 thousands guest nights at commercial accommodations in August. This is 53 percent of the total tourist traffic. (MTI)
