KSH: the volume of retail sales increased in April by 3.4 percent
On the basis of the calendary effect adjusted datas, the volume of retail sales in April increased by 3.4 percent, compared with a year earlier – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday. Since last May, it is the first time, that retail sales have increased on an annual comparision.
In March, the decline in retail sales was 2.9 percent after the 1.2 percent decline of February and 2.3 percent decline of January.
According to the first estimates, after nine months of decline, food sales increased by 3.3 percent. The volume of sales of non-food products remained on last April's level, but in the previous twelve months continuously declined on a year to year comparision. The fuel sales rose extremely in April by 6.3 percent, after prices fell by 5.3 percent compared to last April. (MTI)
