KSH: The number of guest nights decreased by 33 percent in August
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic in August, the number of nights spent by foreign guests in commercial accommodation fell by 71.3 percent year-on-year, while the number of nights spent by domestic guests fell by 2.1 percent, compared with the 18.1 percent decline in the previous month. The turnover of accommodation establishments was 33.2 percent lower than in August last year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday.
81 percent of all guest nights were spent by domestic guests.
The total gross sales revenue of commercial accommodation establishments at current prices was 32.6 percent lower than a year earlier, amounting to 46.719 billion HUF, of which accommodation fee and commission income fell by 35.7 percent to 28.957 billion HUF. Revenues from hospitality decreased by 27.4 percent to 10.578 billion HUF and other revenues by 23.5 percent to 7.184 billion HUF. (KSH)
