KSH: retail turnover increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year
In May, the volume of retail trade increased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, according to both raw and calendar-adjusted data, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
In food and food-type mixed stores, the volume of sales adjusted for calendar effects increased by 6.3 percent, in non-food retail by 1.8 percent, and in fuel retail by 0.7 percent.
Compared to the previous month, the volume of retail trade remained essentially unchanged according to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects.
According to calendar-adjusted data, within the 6.3 percent annual increase in turnover in food and food-related retail trade, the sales volume of food-related mixed stores, which account for 75 percent of the sector, was 6.8, and that of food, beverage, and tobacco specialty stores was 4.6 increased by percent.
In non-food retail, the volume of sales increased by 8.1 percent in drug, medical product, and perfume stores, by 6.0 percent in second-hand goods stores, and by 1.2 percent in furniture and technical goods stores, while it did not change in textile, clothing, and footwear stores. , while it decreased by 2.3 percent in book, computer technology, and other industrial goods stores, and by 3.0 percent in mixed stores of industrial goods nature.
