KSH: retail turnover decreased by 6.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month
In October 2023, according to both raw and calendar-adjusted data, the volume of retail trade decreased by 6.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday.
In food and food-type mixed stores, the volume of sales adjusted for the calendar effect decreased by 1.9 percent, in non-food retail by 5.1 percent, and in fuel retail by 21.1 percent. According to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the volume of retail trade decreased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month.
In January-October 2023, the volume of traffic – also according to calendar-adjusted data – was 9.0 percent lower than in the same period of the previous year.
