KSH: retail turnover increased by 2.5 percent in July compared to the same period of the previous year
In July, according to raw data, the turnover volume of retail trade increased by 3.3 percent, adjusted for the calendar effect, by 2.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday.
The calendar-adjusted volume of sales in food and food-type mixed stores increased by 2.0 percent, in non-food retail by 3.8 percent, and in fuel retail by 0.6 percent.
According to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, the volume of retail trade did not change compared to the previous month.
In January-July 2024, the volume of traffic exceeded the same period of the previous year by 2.6 percent – also according to calendar-adjusted data – announced the KSH.
In July 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, adjusted for calendar effects, the turnover volume of national retail increased by 2.5 percent.
Within the 2.0 percent increase in food and food-related mixed retail sales, the sales volume of food-related mixed stores, which accounted for 76 percent of food retail sales, increased by 2.6 percent, and that of food, beverage, and tobacco specialty stores by 0.3 percent.
The turnover volume of non-food retail increased by 3.8 percent overall. The volume of sales increased by 9.3 percent in pharmaceutical, medical product, and perfume stores, by 2.9 percent in furniture and technical goods stores, by 1.8 percent in industrial goods-type mixed stores, by 0.9 percent in textile, clothing and footwear stores, and second-hand goods by 0.9 percent. – stores decreased by 1.3 percent, and in book, computer technology, and other industrial goods stores by 1.6 percent.
