KSH: agricultural producer prices decreased by 5.6 percent
Agricultural producer prices fell by 5.6 percent in July compared to the same period of the previous year. The price of plant products decreased by 1.9 percent, while the price of live animals and animal products fell by 11.2 percent – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Monday.
The price of cereals declined by 8.1 percent, the price of vegetables decreased by 3.3 percent in July.
The wheat harvest began in July, the buying price rose by 2.2 percent, while maize prices have continued to decline, by 15 percent. The price of potatoes increased by9.0, the price of fruits increased by 24 percent.
The livestock producer price level decreased by 9.0 percent, the price of animal products decreased by 16 percent in July. (MTI)
