KSH: The number of guest nights decreased by 42.3 percent in July
In July, the number of guest nights spent by domestic guests in commercial accommodation fell by 18.1 percent year-on-year, while the number of nights spent by foreign guests fell by 74.9 percent as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The total number of guest nights spent was 42.3 percent less than in July last year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
Following the lifting of restrictions at the end of May, the dynamic growth in domestic guest traffic that began in June continued in July, with the number of guest nights tripling from 672,000 to 2.108 million the previous month, the highest number since August last year. 82 percent of all guest nights were spent by domestic guests.
