KSH: Consumer prices rose by 3.6 percent
Consumer prices in August 2011 fell by 0.1 percent, compared to July – reported the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Prices rose by 3.6 percent compared to last August.
In a month – compared with July 2011 – food prices fell by 1.1 percent, due to the 11.6 percent price decline of seasonal foods (potatoes, fresh vegetables and fruits), and the 0.2 percent average price increase of the other foods.
In the 27 member countries of the EU in July 2011, consumer prices – according to the preliminary harmonized datas – were an average 2.9 percent higher than in July 2010. The smallest increase in prices occurred in Ireland (1.0 percent) and in Slovenia (1.1 percent), the largest was measured in Estonia (5.3 percent) and in Romania (4.9 percent).
