KSH: The service foreign trade surplus was 3.3 billion euros in the third quarter
In the third quarter of 2023, exports of services calculated in euros increased by 14 percent and imports by 9.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The asset was 3.3 billion euros, 616 million euros more than in the third quarter of 2022, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday.
Compared to the previous quarter, exports increased by 17 percent, imports by 15 percent, and the surplus by 604 million euros.
In the third quarter, the value of exports was 9.2 billion euros (3.5 thousand billion forints), and that of imports was 5.9 billion euros (2.3 thousand billion forints).
Among the service groups, tourism contributed a record 1.4 billion euros, transportation 889 million euros, and business services 523 million euros to the assets in the third quarter.
65 percent of service exports and 72 percent of imports were conducted by Hungary with the member states of the European Union, in this respect a surplus of 1.8 billion euros was generated.
