KSH: wheat crop increased by 28 percent
This year, 5,143 million tons of wheat was grown, 28.2 percent more than in 2012.
The volume of yield is surpassing the average of the previous five years by 17.4 percent – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported Friday by. The cultivated area was little more than in last year, so the 4.72 tons per hectare average yield was 25.9 percent more than in 2012.
This year's cereal yields were 25.1 percent higher than the previous year; 6.964 million tons, while the cultivated area was only 0.9 percent higher; 1.56 million hectares. (MTI)
