KSH: foreign trade surplus increased by 246 million euros in the first five months of the year
The export, calculated in euros in January-May increased by 1.8 percent, while imports by 1.1 percent, compared to a year earlier. The first five monthly trade surplus was 3.098 billion euros, 246 million more than in the same period of the last year – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday on the basis of detailed datas.
The detailed figures are slightly lower than it was previously reported. According to the preliminary datas, published on 9 July, in the first of five months of the year, the trade surplus was 3.11 billion euros, 258 million euros more than in the same period of the last year.
In May, the momentum of foreign trade turnover has stopped, the value of exports, calculated in euros declined by 1.9 percent, while imports fell by 0.7 percent, compared to a year earlier, while in April increase was 11.7 percent in exports, and 7.6 percent in imports. The trade balance surplus was 641.4 million euros, 87.8 million less than in May last year. (MTI)
