KSH: the volume of exports increased by 1.7 percent in August
The volume of imports in August decreased by 0.3 percent, while the volume of exports increased by 1.7 percent compared to the same period of last year. Calculating in euro, the value of exports increased by 2.3 percent and imports by 0.2 percent, compared to the same month of last year. The export surplus was 587.6 million euros, 133.2 million more than a year ago – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday.
In the first eight months the volume of exports was 3.1, while the volume of imports was 1.6 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year.
The exports amounted to 53.1 billion euros (15,563 billion HUF) and imports 48.4 billion euros (14,200 billion HUF) in the first eight months. Calculating in euro exports increased by 1.1 percent, while imports increased by 1.4 percent. (MTI)
