KSH: turnover of retail stores decreased by 10.1 percent in February
In February 2023, according to raw and calendar-adjusted data, the volume of retail trade decreased by 10.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday.
In February, the volume of sales in food and food-type mixed stores decreased by 8.6 percent, in non-food retail by 9.8 percent, and in fuel retail by 14.5 percent, adjusted for the calendar effect. In January-February 2023, the volume of traffic – also according to calendar-adjusted data – was 7.3 percent lower than in the same period of the previous year, KSH wrote.
In the second month, the sales volume of food-type mixed stores, which accounted for 77 percent of food retail sales, decreased by 9.6 percent, and that of food, beverage, and tobacco specialty stores by 5.3 percent compared to a year earlier.
