Agriculture will be in a critical situation in 2010
The Constitutional Court will not decide in the case of the introduction of the single farm supporting scheme (SPS) this year. Thus, from 2010 the support for certain sectors should be liquidated, which will affect nearly 100 thousand families.
The SPS-law was adopted by the Parliament in October 2008. The legislation was sent back by President Sólyom László in mid-November last year for control, but the Constitutional Court. Could not re-issued it, since February, becaasue they were not able to establish the majority view.
Therefore, it seems that SPS will not be introducted in January 2010. It could meant 80-100 billion HUF per year for tobacco and rice producers, cattle, sheep and goats breeders, sugar beet growers – reports szabadfold.hu.
