Creative product innovation
Not long after its Italian launch there was a failed attempt to introduce konopizza in Hungary – seven years later the first shop opened in Mammut I shopping centre and the next one will be established soon in Szolnok. Italian food with Italian design – this is konopizza (cone-shaped pizza). Its inventor developed a kind of dough from which a 17cm long and 4cm wide cone can be prepared, which is delivered to shops frozen. Konopizza is baked there in special ovens, with different toppings. In the Mammut unit konopizza costs HUF 680-770 and the to-go version remains hot for 30 minutes in its special bag. Gábor Kulcsár, Kono Hungary Kft.’s managing director told us that franchise partners have to sign a 5-year contract and alongside the entry fee they have to pay a monthly gross HUF 70,000 as royalty fee. Shops are furnished by the Italian franchise owner, partners have to buy the equipment and ingredients.
