Community buying starts in food retail
Groupon, the biggest US community coupon service provider sells Unilever’s ice creams with a 40-percent discount in the Jewel stores of Chicago. Buyers with a loyalty card can buy 15 Dollars worth of ice cream for 9 Dollars if they use the online coupon. Manufacturers and retail chains can now use this simple mechanism to start targeted promotions on the market in just a couple of minutes – before these had to be organised for weeks or months.
