On World Prematurity Day, Shell Hungary and the Peter Cerny Foundation raised awareness of the importance of premature baby rescue at a special event, during which participants were able to gain insight into the everyday lives of the foundation’s rescue workers, the “blue angels”. Shell Hungary has been a committed supporter of the foundation for over 36 years, as part of which the company provides fuel for the ambulances that travel approximately 150,000 kilometers annually.

The program, held at the Shell Alkotás út gas station, was hosted by Adrienn “Ada” Pintér, who, through her personal involvement, guided the visitors through the world of the fight for the lives of premature babies with particular sensitivity.

The participants were able to get to know the everyday life of premature baby rescue up close: they had the opportunity to see a specially equipped ambulance and meet the foundation’s specialists, who work for the lives of the youngest children every day. The members of the rescue team, known as the “blue angels”, not only provide professional care, but also support parents with their human gestures in the most difficult moments.

Shell Hungary has been supporting the Peter Cerny Foundation for more than 36 years, ensuring the full annual fuel supply for the ambulances. Shell also helps to make the foundation’s work visible with marketing campaigns and involves its customers in the process: this time, for example, Shell Hungary offered the Peter Cerny Foundation a support equivalent to the ClubSmart points redeemed on World Prematurity Day, November 17, 2025.

Shell customers also have the opportunity to support the Foundation with a point donation throughout the year through the ClubSmart application, which the company also encourages through several channels.

“We are grateful for donating their ClubSmart points to the Peter Cerny Foundation, which gives us the opportunity to renew our equipment in order to continuously carry out our main goal, the rescue and guarded transport of premature and sick newborns, saving so many tiny lives. with this”

– said Dr. Zsolt Somogyvári, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peter Cerny Foundation.

“This cooperation is not just support, but a common mission in which all our customers and colleagues participate. Our goal remains the same: every premature baby receives the life-saving care they need – on time, safely, in expert hands. We are proud to have been able to stand by the ‘blue angels’ for such a long time, as this is a vital initiative for society as a whole”

– said Gyula Marik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shell Hungary zRt.
