The common agricultural policy is a huge development opportunity
For Hungary, the EU’s agricultural policy is a huge opportunity for development, however, because of the ever-tightening requirements, the farmers and the food industry are facing more requirements – Győrffy Balázs, chairman of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told Kossuth Radio on Monday morning.
According to NAK’s president, the European agriculture guarantees a high level of food security, but this rigor puts many administrative and other burdens on farmers.
He stressed that the current system would not provide income to the farmers without support.
He added that he does not count on the termination and withdrawal of the common agricultural policy. The transformation of the support system is not necessarily a necessity, but some kind of “fine-tuning” will certainly occur, as simplification is constantly promised. (MTI)
