Tesco doubles in Central and Eastern Europe
The world's third-largest retail chain will double its trade surface in Central and Eastern Europe in the next five years – reported Reuters on Tuesday. The company would achieve the growth with the opening of smaller stores and new hypermarkets.
Thus, the chain's would increase its commercial surface from the current 2.2 million to 4.1 million square meters for 2014-15 in the Central and Eastern European region.
Tesco currently operates 850 stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Turkey, with a total annual turnover of about 12 billion USD – reports Penzcentrum.hu.
