Sales of processed poultry approaching HUF 40 billion

Sales of processed poultry expanded slightly in the September 2007 – August 2008 period, compared to the preceding year. Sales increased by 3 percent in terms of value, approaching HUF 40 billion. Poultry accounted for 20 percent of the total processed meat market, while pork and beef accounted for 79 percent and 1 percent respectively. Pre-packaged products dominate the processed poultry market, with a HUF 26 increase in average price per kilo, compared to the preceding year.
