The Russian embargo reduced the Hungarian agricultural exports with nearly a hundred million euros
The Russian import ban introduced in 2014 affected the Hungarian agri-food industry badly. During three years, the sector’s exports decreased by nearly one hundred million euros – Magyar Idők wrote.
Several years of dynamic growth broke that time. According to the National Association of Agricultural Economics, the goods stranded on the EU market – due to the embargo – had even more direct harmful effects. The future will not be easy after the lifting of restrictions, because it will be difficult to regain the former markets in Russia. (Köpöncei Csilla, magyaridok.hu)
