After a month-long closure, stores opened in Austria
After tha shutdown lasts since November 17 aimed at curbing the coronavirus pandemic, stores opened on Monday and teaching began in the lower grades of schools in Austria. However, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig opted for joint testing instead of a shopping tour.
Kurz and Ludwig jointly visited one of the capital’s largest “test streets” (Messe Wien) at the Prater in the morning to raise awareness of the importance of mass testing and to encourage greater participation by the population. Both of them tested negative. (MTI)
