Nearly 600 companies have registered on the first day in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone
Hundreds of companies have registered their presence in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. On the first working day, the number of interested was close to one and a half thousand – the Shanghai Information Center reports.
According to the organization's statistics, a total of 577 companies have submitted registration applications. The majority of the companies is local and national companies, the share of foreign companies is small. In the bank sector, only two foreign banks, the U.S. Citibank and the Singapore-based DBS have registered among the firsts. Other major players – such as the British HSBC or the American Standard Chartered – previously indicated their interest, however, it seems that they choose the strategy of waiting.
